An established Oakland-based health products business with retail divisions operating across the Bay Area is seeking a full-time Controller to manage a multi-entity accounting operation. This position reports to the CFO and has one senior bookkeeper to assist in daily accounting operations for three locations staffed by 50 employees and a full-time HR manager. This is a full-service, hands-on controller role that includes total oversight of payables, receivables, general ledger, payroll, monthly tax reporting and monthly/quarterly closing.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Previously served in a controller or similar capacity for a multi-division business with combined annual sales exceeding $10 million
  • Retail and/or manufacturing finance department experience
  • Demonstrable experience managing cost-control and management reporting programs
  • Advanced spreadsheet and financial systems skills
  • Recent experience with ERP, CRM and payroll systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • A positive can-do approach to problem solving
  • Capacity to take on a heavy workload and execute under tight deadlines
